EXECUTION
The creative visual execution of Kehlani's Blue Water Road tour was a groundbreaking blend of live-action and multi-animation storytelling, designed to immerse audiences in a dreamlike narrative. The journey begins with live-action scenes of Kehlani on a tour bus, drifting into sleep, where each dream is inspired by one of the four elements—Air, Fire, Earth, and Water. Each element is brought to life through a unique animation style, ranging from 2D to 3D, creating a visually dynamic and sensorial experience.
WORLD BUILDING
The transitions between reality and these animated worlds mirror the themes of struggle and companionship, emphasizing the emotional depth of the show. Drawing inspiration from iconic works like Fantasia, the visuals seamlessly complemented Kehlani's live performance, offering audiences an unforgettable fusion of music, storytelling, and art.

During the conceptual stage of Kehlani's Blue Water Road tour, we collaborated with a team of professional storyboard artists to bring the show's vision to life. Each section of the two-hour performance was meticulously illustrated, aligning with one of the four elemental themes—Air, Fire, Earth, and Water. Drawing inspiration from Fantasia, the storyboards were hand-drawn to capture the surreal and emotional essence of the narrative. These visual guides served as the foundation for the show's creative direction, enabling seamless integration of live-action and animation. The detailed storyboards not only shaped the tour’s visual identity but also ensured that the transitions between Kehlani’s live performance and the animated dream sequences felt cohesive and immersive.
